About the project
Paterson’s Curse is a weed that is widespread throughout Australia. Current research suggests removal is impossible at this time.
I viewed this as a metaphor for a form of male violence and shame that runs throughout many people’s lives.
My role
Artist, self-publisher and collaborator.
I was working with a group of teenagers at this time as a teacher. With their permission I included photographs of them to speak to the complexity and shame that can arise from becoming violent yourself.
